Yesterday I got the news that one of my contractors died of a heart attack.

He was only 39 years old and leaves behind 5 daughters.

The Very First Thing I Did

Before the day was over I sent flowers and a card to his family.

Inside the card was a check.

I made sure they received every penny their loved one was owed for the work he did for me.

I’ve had guys get hurt on the job.

I’ve had guys disappear without ever finishing.

But this was the first time I’ve had to navigate a death.
